C&C Group, the Irish drinks company, is expected to confirm plans to float on the stock market. The move, which would see the company float for up to €1 billion (US$1.19 billion), is expected to be announced this week. C&C plans to list in Dublin and London, according to industry sources.

The company, which is owned by private-equity firm BC Partners, decided not to launch an IPO two years ago due to poor market conditions.

In February this year, sources said that C&C was looking to appoint banks to investigate the possibility of a dual share listing. At the time, C&C was expected to be valued at less than €3 billion (US$1.28 billion). In the last few months it has also been looking into a possible sale to another drinks group or a private-equity firm with Merrill Lynch, the investment bank.
