Castle Brands now holds a 25% stake in Copperhead Distillery Co

Castle Brands has purchased an additional 5% holding in Kentucky Artisan Distillery owner Copperhead Distillery Co.

The company said today that the deal takes its share in Copperhead to 25%. The move follows the completion of an initial 20% purchase, in 2015. Castle said at the time that the investment would provide facilities for its Jefferson's brand.

"Partnering with Kentucky Artisan Distillery has provided a home for Jefferson's Bourbon and allowed us the ability to develop, innovate and expand our Jefferson's offerings," said Castle's COO, John Glover. "With Kentucky Artisan Distillery's expanded warehousing and distilling capabilities, we expect the partnership to continue to grow and develop with the Jefferson's brand."

Financial details behind the transaction were not disclosed.

In June, Castle reported a strong fiscal-2017, maintaining the momentum during the second half of the year.
