Carlsberg UK has unveiled a Christmas draught beer under its namesake brand that will only be on sale at pubs near its Northampton brewery.

Carlsberg Christmas Brew is the first Christmas beer the Danish brewer has launched in the UK, however the release is limited to 29 Northampton pubs, bars and on-premise venues. The East Midlands town has been home to the UK Carlsberg brewery since 1973 and all proceeds from sales of Carlsberg Christmas Brew will be donated to a local charity, Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

Carlsberg UK today said the release was inspired by Tuborg's Christmas beer, Julebryg, which is popular in Denmark around the holiday season. The Tuborg brand is owned by Carlsberg.
