Carlsberg has nominated a new member to its supervisory board, following the deputy chairman's decision to step down.

The brewer said today that Lars Rebien Sørensen has notified the board that he will not stand for re-election at March's AGM. The board will propose the election of Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen as a new member. Fruergaard Jørgensen is president and CEO of Danish multinational pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk.
Chairman of the supervisory board Flemming Besenbacher said: "I'd like to thank Lars Rebien Sørensen for his contribution to the board during his tenure. I'm very pleased that we're able to propose a strong replacement. Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen's expertise and management experience will be valuable for the future work of the supervisory board."
Carlsberg's AGM takes place on 13 March.
At the start of the year, Carlsberg Polska head Tomasz Blawat moved to become UK CEO. He replaces Julian Momen, who will leave at the end of March.
