The brewer said today it will offload the property in Trondheim to a consortium made up of grocery company NorgesGruppen, coffee roaster Kjeldsberg and house-builder Heimdal Gruppen. The sale is worth NOK729m (US$84.8m).

A spokesperson for Carlsberg confirmed to just-drinks that the deal does not include the EC Dahls brewery. The brewery, which operates in collaboration with Brooklyn Brewery, will "continue to produce the existing EC Dahls Pilsner brand and brew and serve innovative, new craft brews developed collaboratively by Brooklyn and EC Dahls", the spokesperson said.

"We will preserve EC Dahls' brewery and develop it further as an craft & specialty brewery and cultural arena," the spokesperson added.

Carlsberg said the transaction is in line with the group's "continuous evaluation of non-core assets and disciplined approach to take out cost while positioning the business for growth".

In 2016, the brewer sold a plot of undeveloped land at the Tuborg site north of Copenhagen
