Carlsberg has extended its sponsorship with the English Football Association for a further four years.

The brewer's UK arm confirmed today (8 September) that the extension means its relationship with the FA will have lasted 19 years.

The agreement sees Carlsberg's namesake beer brand retain its exclusive status as the 'Official Beer' of both the England team and The FA Cup. The agreement also extends to Wembley Stadium, where Carlsberg will continue as the exclusive beer pouring partner.

The new deal starts on 1 August 2010, at the end of the current four-year term.

The four-year agreement runs until the end of July 2014 and covers the Euro 2012 and 2014 FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Financial details behind the extension were not disclosed.
