Britvic has appointed a former Carlsberg executive to lead the marketing efforts for its carbonates brands.

The UK soft drinks group has named Peter Kirby as brand director for carbonates. Kirby, who will begin in his new role on 16 April, was previously marketing controller for premium lagers and ales at Carlsberg UK.

The move is part of a wider reshuffle at Britvic, which has in recent months promoted two other executives to lead different parts of its portfolio, a company spokesman told just-drinks today (16 March).

While Kirby will head up the marketing for brands including Tango and Pepsi, Jonathan Gatward has taken on the role of brand director for the Robinsons stable. Jane Ahern, meanwhile, has been promoted to head the marketing for its water and more "adult" products, like J20.
