Carlsberg has added its chief commercial officer to the executive committee

Carlsberg's chief commercial officer has been lined up to join the brewer's executive committee.

The company said today that Jessica Spence will take up the position on 1 March. A spokesperson for the brewer told just-drinks she is not replacing anyone on the committee.

Spence joined Carlsberg's Asia region as VP of commercial in 2012. She has been globally responsible for the group's commercial function since 2015.

Prior to joining Carlsberg, Spence held senior roles as FMCG companies in UK, Russia, Slovakia and Poland.

"It's a pleasure for me to acknowledge the strong commercial contributions of Jessica Spence by appointing her to our executive committee," said Carlsberg CEO Cees 't Hart. "I am confident she will continue to add significant value and insights to the group's commercial agenda, as we continue our transformation journey and execute our Sail'22 strategy."

Spence is based at the group's headquarters in Copenhagen.

Last week, Carlsberg reported full-year results for 2017. The brewer maintained its low-single-digit growth of the top line in 2017, as the second half of the year benefited from the sales lift in the first six months.
