Camus is to switch its distributor in the Netherlands in a bid to boost sales in the country next year.

The company, which owns the Camus Cognac and Ungava gin brands, will team up with Dutch wholesalers Fine Drinks from the start of 2016. Fine Drinks will replace previous distributor Intercaves, a spokesperson told just-drinks yesterday.

"We agreed that a change of distribution in the Netherlands would give impetus to the Camus brand and boost sales in 2016, positioning us nearer to our market," the spokesperson said.

Fine Drinks will distribute the following products in the Dutch domestic market:

  • Camus Cognacs (70cl)
  • Camus Elegance Range: VS, VSOP & XO
  • Camus Borderies Range: VSOP & XO
  • Camus Ile de Ré Range: Fine Island, Double Matured, Cliffside Cellar
  • Ungava Super-premium Gin (70cl)

Frans Lambregts, sales director for spirits at Fine Drinks, said: "The partnership with Camus is an essential element for the future of our brand strategy."

Last month, Philippines-based brandy producer Emperador confirmed that it would handle the distribution of Camus Cognac in the UK.
