Scotland's rural pubs are closing at a rate of three a month, according to the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra).

The action group claims that most are either being demolished or turned into houses.

Camra said it was setting up Community Pubs Foundation. The Foundation will look to provide advice, information and small grants to pubs.

"Pubs are right at the heart of rural communities and when they are lost, like the post office or the village shop, they are lost forever," said Camra chief executive Mike Benner.
