The UK-based soft drinks and sweets group, Cadbury Schweppes, is to acquire the Danish privately-owned chewing gum company, Dandy, for £201m ($306m). It will make the company the second largest chewing gum producer in Europe. The company said it expected to conclude the deal in the autumn and that it would not affect earnings in the first year following the deal but would have a positive impact thereafter.
