A-B InBev has declined to release anymore details on the new Bud Light variant

Anheuser-Busch InBev is preparing to launch a new flavoured variant of its Bud Light brand – called Mixx-Tail – in the US.

The company has filed a trademark application for the off-shoot, which is due to be released next spring. The application refers to the brand as a "flavoured beer".

However, the brewer has declined to release any further details of the new offering. In a statement to just-drinks today, an Anheuser-Busch spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Bud Light Mixx-Tail will make its US debut in spring 2014. Details about its launch date, marketing campaign and packaging will be announced early next year.”

A version of the product is already sold in Argentina by A-B InBev's Quilmes brewery, according to reports

In third-quarter results, reported last month, A-B said sales of the Bud Light portfolio were down 2%

Earlier this month, the brewer confirmed that it plans to launch a Tequila-flavoured lager called Oculto, also next Spring.
