Brown-Forman has seen global Jack Daniel's sales rise

Brown-Forman has cut the ribbon on a new cooperage as it seeks to keep pace with global Jack Daniel's demand.

The company yesterday (7 July) officially opened the Jack Daniel Cooperage in Trinity, Alabama, which will produce up to 700 barrels a day for the Tennessee whiskey brand. Jack Daniel's grew reported net sales by 5% world-wide in Brown-Forman's latest full-year results, released last month.

Jack Daniel's MD John Hayes said: “We want to be able to satisfy the world’s thirst for our premium Tennessee Whiskey, and having this state-of-the-art cooperage will help us meet that demand.”

The facility, plans for which were first unveiled in 2012, will employ about 200 people when it is fully operational. Brown-Forman previously said the cooperage will double its whiskey barrel-making capacity.
