BrewDog's DogTap is on the site of its upcoming US brewery

The taproom, BrewDog's biggest, opened today at the site of the company's planned US brewery, which is due to start operations this year. The company said a second BrewDog bar will open in Columbus's Franklinton neighbourhood this Summer.

BrewDog already has a number of bars around the world, including in Scandinavia and Japan, however the DogTap is its first entry to the US.

The bar will feature an automated growler machine, and 12 draught lines. Six will run BrewDog beers while the other six will be given over to guest beers from Ohio breweries such as Rhinegeist, Rockmill, Land Grant and Jackie O.

When BrewDog's US brewery opens in the Spring it will serve DogTap with both draught beer and packaged products from its on-site canning line.

The brewery was funded through a crowdfunding scheme launched last year.
