BrewDog has appointed Andy Shaw to the role of CEO for its beer brands

The Scotland-based company, which has brewing, distilling and bar operations worldwide, has named Andy Shaw as the head of the beer division. Shaw was most recently MD of Red Bull UK, a position he assumed seven years ago.

In the new role, Shaw will be responsible for the global sales and marketing of BrewDog's beer portfolio.

The position was created to provide "additional senior strategic leadership as BrewDog enters a period of accelerated growth domestically and internationally," the company said.

The announcement follows the publication in October of the company's business manifesto, which includes around 30 initiatives designed to help grow the group over the next decade.

"Andy's impressive track record for championing a strategic, global vision is what makes him such an exciting addition to the BrewDog crew," said BrewDog co-founder James Watt. "His experience in working in a vibrant, bold business famed for pushing the envelope is exactly what we need as we enter hyperdrive on our global vision."
