The brewer, Brau Union Romania, a subsidiary of the Austrian BBAG brewing group, reported an operating profit of €6.5m (US$6.0m) for 2001. Sales at the company reached EUR157m ($142.1m), with a total volume output of 3.9m hls. The company currently has a 34.5% share of the Romanian beer market.
