Boo Koo Holdings has lined up a consumer promotion for its namesake energy drink brand in the US.
The company said yesterday (28 January) that 'Show Us Your Cans' will run in nine metropolitan markets in the country, in areas covered by distributors Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United.
The promotion rewards individuals who attend major events in their city carrying Boo Koo cans, or sporting Boo-Koo costumes or regalia. The campaign, which includes prizes ranging from free cases of Boo Koo to US$1m, will run next month in Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina, Columbia and Greenville in South Carolina, Nashville and Chattanooga in Tennessee, Augusta and Savannah in Georgia and Birmingham in Alabama.
"We're very excited about working with Coke Consolidated and Coke United and joining forces to promote Boo Koo as the next alternative in energy drinks by providing more energy, better tasting products that helps people be their best," said David Hayes, president of sales and marketing for Boo Koo.
The promotion will be supported with a radio buy within each market, sampling events at ten separate locations in the city, in-store displays and point of sales material, and radio station merchandising/events. Participants will also be able to enter the programme online by uploading photographs of themselves showing their Boo Koo cans.
