A private-equity firm is to acquire Canadian RTD tea maker Blu-Dot Beverage for an undisclosed amount.

Niagara Ventures Corp, which announced the deal yesterday, said it expects to close by 5 December. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval, it added.

Ontario-based Blu-Dot manufactures RTD protein teas including a stevia-sweeneted range. Its products contain New Zealand whey protein and prebiotic dietary fibre.
