Blavod Extreme Spirits said today (23 February) that it had agreed to take over part of the business of EPM Brands, a UK spirits importer.

Balvod will start to distribute Four Roses Bourbon and a number of other premium brands, including Hpnotiq and Cariel Vanilla vodka, with immediate effect, a statement said.

"The company hopes to be able to consolidate agency agreements with the Brand owners in due course, at which point a further announcement will be made," the statement said.

No financial details were disclosed.

In January, Blavod Extreme Spirits posted a strong rise in sales volumes for its third quarter. The UK-based company, which owns Blavod Black vodka and the intellectual property rights for the Blackwood's gin and vodka brands, said volumes in the three months to the end of December increased by 32% on the corresponding period a year earlier.

Blavod concluded at the time that it expected a "satisfactory" fourth quarter.
