Big Rock Brewery has announced the retirement of an independent director.

The company said yesterday (3 December) that Robert Hartley, who has served as a director at the brewer since 1984, has stood down.

Big Rock chairman Ed McNally said "He (Hartley) was one of Big Rock's earliest directors. Like a good farmer, he stayed with Big Rock through the wet and dry years."

A replacement for Hartley has not yet been announced.

Last month, Big Rock announced the appointment of a new chief financial officer, Colleen McLeod, to begin in January. McLeod will join following the recent announcement that Timothy Duffin will leave the company at the end of the year.
