Three vineyards in emerging wine regions have signed distribution partnerships with UK wine merchant Bibendum.

Wines from Bodegas Garzon in Uruguay, P&F in Slovenia and Maycas del Limari in Chile will be available in the on-trade and through independent wine sellers from next month, Bibendum said today (28 April). The wines will be targeted at consumers looking for “the next big thing”, the company said.

Bodegas Garzon is based in the Uruguayan town of Punta del Este while Maycas del Limari is a cool-climate vineyard in the Limari valley north of Chile's capital Santiago. P&F's range includes four Slovenian whites as well as a Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend from a vineyard in Macedonia.

Last month, Bibendum's MD, Michael Saunders, called for the UK Government to scrap plans to increase wine duty in line with inflation after it froze the rate on spirits.
