One of the founders of Bibendum is returning to head up wine strategy at the UK wine agent.

Simon Farr is moving to a full-time post where he will "oversee wine strategy," a spokesperson for Bibendum told just-drinks today (6 March). He will continue in his current position as non-executive deputy chairman.

He will also take responsibility for the company's joint ventures with Boisset and Lion Nathan, the Argento Wine Company and Bibendum Wine International.

Farr stepped down as buying director at the company in 2000, after co-founding it in 1982.

"Simon has been at the heart of many of our more exciting wine developments over the years - and I hope and expect that we will see many more in the near future," said Bibendum's managing director, Michael Saunders, who assumed full control of the post after joint MD Dan Jago stood down last month.
