Beverage Partners Worldwide, the joint-venture between The Coca-Cola Co and Nestle, is reviewing its India-wide roll-out of Nestea, according to reports.

In October last year, the company began tesitng the ready-to-drink iced tea in Mumbai, with a view to rolling it out nationwide this year. However, the product's availability remains restricted as a result of the joint-venture "failing to push the product", the Economic Times reported today (14 October).

A spokesperson for Coca-Cola was cited by the publication as saying that Beverage Partners Worldwide plans to "apply our learning before we make any further launches of Nestea in the country".

Neither Coca-Cola nor Nestle could be reached for comment.

Under the 19-year-old global agreement between the two firms, the rights to manufacture, distribute and market the Nestea brand in powdered and vending machine formats are with Nestle, while Coca-Cola holds the rights to make, distribute and market Nestea in glass and PET bottles and cartons.
