Berry Bros & Rudd has added a coffee liqueur expression to its namesake spirits range in the UK. The iteration plays on the London company's historical ties with the coffee industry, dating back to the opening of the wine & spirits merchant's London site 320 years ago.

The outlet had previously been a coffee mill and was known locally as 'The Sign of the Coffee Mill'.

"Coffee was where the business started back in 1698, so it feels rather nostalgic but incredibly appropriate to be offering a coffee-based product to our customers once again," said BBR chairman Lizzy Rudd. "Having already relaunched our London Dry Gin earlier in the year and providing a new classic range of whiskies under our Berry Bros & Rudd label, it's fun to have something a bit different to add to our range."

BBR Coffee Liqueur is produced in London by Thames Distillers in partnership with Union Hand-Roasted Coffee. The liquid includes coffee created using a cold-drip process, which "extracts less acidity from the bean".
