Berry Bros & Rudd has appointed a new distributor for its spirits brands in Australia

UK drinks company Berry Bros & Rudd has appointed a new distributor for its spirits brands in the Australian market.

The company said today that it has signed Melbourne-based Baranows Emporium to distribute its own-label whiskies and rums, No 3 Gin, The King's Ginger Liqueur and Penny Blue Rum. The portfolio was previously handled in the market by Samuel Smith & Sons.

"The proven track record of Baranows Emporium in brand building gives us total confidence in the future of our spirits brands in Australia," said Berry Bros & Rudd regional sales manager, Luigi Barzini.  Our gratitude also goes to our previous Australian agent Samuel Smith & Sons, for establishing a presence for Berry Bros & Rudd spirits in the Australian market and we wish them continued success with their business."

Earlier this month, the company upped its holding in California's Anchor Distilling Co. The move came after Anchor's sister brewery Anchor Brewing Co was sold to Japan's Sapporo Holdings in August.
