According to figures released by the Union of Belgian Brewers, Belgian beer output rose by 11.2% year-on-year in 2004 to 17.4m hectolitres in 2004.

Belgian beer exports increased by 29.1% to 8.6m hectolitres, with exports to France reaching 3.2m hls, exports to the Netherlands totalling 2.4m hls and sales to Germany standing at 1.0m hls.
