InBev's global flagship brand Beck's is to continue its contemporary art award sponsorship in the UK.

The 2006 Beck's Futures award will have increased investment and GBP38,000 (US$66,600) in prize money for the winning artists.

Next year will mark Beck's seventh year of involvement in the art prize, which was created in conjunction with the Institute of Contemporary Art to provide UK-based artists with an opportunity for exposure and financial support.

Beck's Futures will be supported by an advertising, online and PR campaign from January to raise awareness of the exhibitions.

Phil Rumbol, marketing director for InBev UK, said: "The expansion of the 2006 Award will ensure that Beck's Futures not only maintains its role as a barometer of new creative talent but changes the views that some consumers have about contemporary art, presenting it in a way that is not intimidating or pretentious."
