Beam Wine Estates, part of Beam Global Spirits & Wine, has announced the appointment of Christopher Lynch as chief marketing officer, with effect from January.

Lynch, who has worked in the global fine wine business for 20 years, will report to Bill Newlands, president of BWE, and will sit on the company's executive committee.

Lynch will be responsible for overseeing development and implementation of global marketing strategies for BWE's domestic portfolio which includes the Clos du Bois, Geyser Peak, William Hill Estate and Atlas Peak brands. Lynch will also lead US marketing activity for BWE's range of Australian and New Zealand brands, which includes the St Hallett , Petaluma and Wither Hills brands, and for Roth Vodka, the California vodka made from premium wine grapes.

"Chris brings to Beam Wine Estates extensive industry experience and an exceptional track record of building New World fine wine brands," Newlands said. "I know that he will contribute significantly towards growing our brands and helping to further establish our position as a leading super-premium wine producer and partner."

Lynch has held a number of senior marketing positions with major wine companies including Allied Domecq, Chandon Estates and Kendall-Jackson, and was most recently managing director of Pernod Ricard's New Zealand wine business.
