Islay single malt whisky distillery Bowmore has lined up its first ever Amazon-exclusive bottling.

Brand owner Beam Suntory has released a 19-year-old expression, aged in first-fill ex-Chateau Lagrange French oak barriques. According to Beam Suntory, the release marks the first time this age and cask maturation has been released to the public.

The 48.9% abv Bowmore 19 Year Old carries an RRP of GBP129 (US$169.50) per 70cl bottle. The product is available to pre-order from 15 October, with release scheduled for 22 October.

"This unique new expression has been patiently aged for 19 years in French oak barriques to impart a richness of flavour that perfectly marries with the gentle peat," said distillery manager David Turner. "It's the first time we've offered a whisky of this age and maturation, we know everyone who buys a bottle will be rewarded with a liquid of exceptional flavour and character."
