Beam will have a new Asia-Pacific, South American president

Beam Inc has lined-up a new president for its Asia Pacific and South America unit.

Nicholas Fink, currently the group's chief strategy officer, will replace Phil Baldock, Beam said yesterday (22 July). Baldock, who has been with Beam for 14 years, will leave at the end of the year, but it is not immediately clear when Fink will take up the reins.

The company said Baldock is leaving because he wants to “spend more time with his family”.

In May, Beam reported a 7% drop in sales in its Asia Pacific and South America unit, while analysts warned emerging markets could drag on its full-year performance

Fink, 38, has been with Beam for seven years and became chief strategy officer in 2012.

Matt Shattock, Beam's president & CEO, said: “Nick Fink is ... a gifted and dynamic leader with a unique breadth of experience that makes him the ideal successor to Phil.”

Last month, the group appointed an MD for its emerging South American markets, a newly-created role
