Beam Global Spirits & Wine is targeting investors and Scotch whisky collectors with the launch of 25-year-old Laphroaig and a 30-year-old Ardmore single malts.

The Laphroaig and Ardmore expressions, to be launched in the US in early April, will have a suggested retail price of US$499 and $449 per bottle respectively, Beam said yesterday (30 March).

"Those looking for a bold investment with a strong finish should consider whetting their appetite with fine Scotch whisky," said Stacey Simmons, brand manager for Laphroaig and Ardmore.

Only 1,428 bottles of Ardmore will be released, said Beam, which is the spirits arm of US firm Fortune Brands and also owns Jim Beam, Maker's Mark and Courvoisier brands.

The Laphroaig 25YO has an abv of 51.2%, while the Ardmore 30YO has an abv of 53.7%.
