Baltic Beverages Holding Ukraine has announced the appointment of a new chief executive.

Peter Chernyshov, the acting chief financial officer of Baltika Breweries, will assume the position from 1 May, the company said yesterday (13 March). Chernyshov will replace Yurij Vertoprakhov, who left the position on 1 March to pursue other interests.

Yurij Bykorizh has been appointed acting managing director from 10 March until 30 April.

"BBH Ukraine has several challenges to overcome in the coming years," Chernyshov said. "Primarily, it is getting back the market share in the Ukrainian beer market, meeting the expectations of our shareholders through the increase of overall efficiency, ensuring constant profits growth and return on investments. However I am eager to get started and very excited about the opportunity to return to my favourite city Kiev again."

"BBH has three breweries in Ukraine, with good brands and very high-quality products," BBH Ukraine's chairman, Christian Ramm-Schmidt, added. "We believe Peter Chernyshov has the abilities to turn-around the business with the rest of the management in charge. We wish Peter Chernyshov good luck in his new challenges."
