Barons Brewing has added to its licensing portfolio by securing a deal with Outback Brewing in Australia.

The company, which acquired the licensing and distribution for the Byron Bay Premium Ale brand last month, said late last week that it has purchased Outback's licensing and distribution globally.

Barons will distribute Outback's Pale Ale, Pilsener and Chilli Beer through independent outlets as well as national chains throughout Australia, with international distribution expected early next year.

Financial details behind the tie-up were not disclosed.

"Outback is a brand we believe will prosper on an international platform when given the proper resources to strengthen its global appeal," said Barons director Scott Garnett.

Outback Brewery director Benn Hart added: "Barons is on the right path in its vision to build distribution channels for independent beer companies both in Australia and around the world. We believe the synergy between Outback and Barons will allow for tremendous growth and unlimited potential as we move into 2010."

Earlier this year, Barons also acquired the rights to Snowy Mountains Brewery and Lucky Beer.
