Baron de Ley has posted a healthy lift in net profits for the first nine months of this year.

The Spanish wine producer, which sells the Finca Monasterio brand as well as its namesake line, said late last week that net profits for the period from January to September came in 9% up on the corresponding period a year earlier, at EUR12.4m (US$17.2m). The lift came on the back of a slight rise in sales, of 1.7% to EUR57m.

Despite a 5% fall in domestic sales, which still accounts for the bulk of Baron de Ley's sales, the company saw exports leap by 15% to EUR21.7m in the year so far.
