Alcohol advertising in Finland could be restricted by new anti-alcohol measures, according to local reports.

The Nordic Business Report said on Friday (3 March) that the government's alcohol policy working group was looking at ways to reduce the hazards caused by rising alcohol consumption in the country.

Among the measures being considered are the restriction of alcohol advertising and sale times, the banning of bulk discounts for alcohol purchases, and the introduction of warning labels.

Citing Finnish news agency STT, the report added that the government was not considering increasing alcohol taxation as a way to curb the dangers.
