Baltika has posted a healthy rise in H1 net profits. The Russian brewer, operated by Baltic Beverages Holding, said today (16 August) that net profits for the six-month period leapt by 53% compared to the corresponding period a year earlier, to RUB3.3bn (US$116m).

Sales, however, only increased by 27% to RUB16.2bn for the period.

In volume terms, Baltika sold 10.8m hectolitres in the first six months, a climb of 22.1%.

Baltic Beverages Holding is jointly-owned by Carlsberg and Scottish & Newcastle.
