Bacardis Bombay Sapphire campaign will run for one month

Bacardi's Bombay Sapphire campaign will run for one month

Bacardi's Global Travel Retail unit will roll out its Bombay Sapphire campaign to Sydney airport as it looks to capitalise on Australia's thirst for gin.

The company said yesterday that its virtual reality shopper campaign, which ran in Heathrow Terminal 5 during September, would run for one month in Sydney airport. The partnership with Heinemann includes brand sampling and a virtual reality tour of the brand's distillery.

Citing IWSR figures, Bacardi said that gin had seen double-digit growth "over four times faster than other spirits with Bombay Sapphire delivering over one third of the growth" in the Australian market.

"Bombay Sapphire enjoys enormous popularity in Australia and this campaign capitalises on one of the busiest months of the year at Sydney Airport, enabling us to reach and engage with... fans flying out of the city," said Vinay Golikeri, regional director Asia Pacific and Middle East Africa, Bacardi Global Travel Retail.

Financial details behind the activation were not disclosed.
