The Indian press today reported that Bacardi-Martini is intending to launch its flagship RTD Bacardi Breezer into the Indian market, through its subsidiary Bacardi Martini India.

Bacardi Martini India is a joint venture with Gemini Distilleries, and is planning the launch for early September. Gemini will bottle the drink, which will then be marketed in markets such as Delhi, Maharashtra (including Mumbai) and Goa before being phased into a national push.

Sources say that the three likely flavours for the Indian market are orange, lime and cranberry. However, when contacted, BMIL refused to divulge details regarding the launch.

The Indian press reported that this was the second attempt to launch the brand. Plans were shelved three years ago after it was decided that pricing was too high to make significant inroads on the market.
