Bacardi has announced the appointment of a new regional manager in its global travel retail division.

The privately-owned spirits company said yesterday (18 August) that René Machon will head up Germany and Switzerland at the travel retail unit. Machon joins Bacardi from Gebr. Heinemann, where he was head of category management. Prior to this, he was with Bacardi in Germany for ten years, working in several positions in marketing, sales, and trade marketing.

In his new role, Machon will report directly to Hauke Marquardt, travel retail regional director for Central, Eastern Europe and Middle East. He replaces Marquardt, who moved up to his current position last year.
