Baarsma Wine Group Holding has appointed a new general manager of its Baarsma France division.

The company said today (3 September) that Bruno Meens will take over the role of general manager, replacing Wim van der Eijk, who will remain as chairman of Baarsma France.

Meens has previously worked at La Ruche Picarde, with Hypermarchés Mammouth, been head of buying at Catteau-Tesco, Promodes and Fauchon and director of marketing and sourcing at Traditional World Food.

In his new role, Meens will help expand the company's wine distribution within the French market and manage its international brand portfolio, said the company.

Earlier this year, Baarsma sold a majority stake in the company to private equity firm ABN AMRO Capital for an undisclosed sum. Baarsma, which is based in Holland but exports to 28 countries, owns a slew of wine distributors, including Wine Excel, Hasselt Millesime and Wijnvoordeel
