The managing director of Australian Wine Holdings has resigned from his position to "pursue private investments".

The Perth-based company said yesterday (6 December) that Michael James Calneggia, who bought AWH's Wine Shack distribution business in June, will leave in what it describes as "a very difficult period for the Australian wine industry".

Calneggia will continue to show support for AWL by providing consulting services "on normal commercial terms," the company said.
