The new variants comprise:

  • Black Label Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir
  • Black Label Sparkling Rosé
  • Black Label Sparkling Shiraz

"The past year has seen a huge increase in the appetite for sparkling wines of all varieties," said group CEO Neil McGuigan. "We're confident that these Australian bubbles will offer something fresh and new for UK consumers."

Earlier this year, Australian Vintage unveiled two de-alcoholised wines in the UK that have an abv of 0.4%.

McGuigan Wines, four-time international winemaker of the year, is set to launch three sparkling wines into the Black Label range. With the Prosecco boom having a domino effect on the trend for sparkling wines in the UK, McGuigan's latest additions will offer wine lovers three alternative tipples for the summer. Joining a host of flavoursome reds, whites and rosés already available in the Black Label range, the trio will be available to buy in Sainsbury's from May.

Made with carefully selected grapes, the new Black Label Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir is full of fresh tropical fruit flavours, with a wonderful creamy texture and clean, crisp and lengthy finish. The classic blend of Chardonnay grapes and Pinot Noir results in added complexity and depth, whilst still maintaining impressive fruit flavours. Light and refreshing on the palate, the wine is the perfect partner for fresh seafood such as scallops or seabass.

The Black Label Sparkling Rosé is a vibrant, fruity wine with refreshing strawberry flavours and floral blossom notes. Perfect as an aperitif or paired with smoked salmon, this fresh wine makes a welcome addition to any occasion.

With sparkling Shiraz seeing a period of growth in the UK, this is the perfect time for McGuigan to be launching its own offering. With dark berry flavours of blackcurrant and plum, and a touch of spicy oak and chocolate, this complex wine is versatile enough to partner with meaty stews, but also to serve chilled with lighter canapés.

The trio of sparkling wines are perfect for those looking for a crisp tipple to enjoy at celebratory occasions, whether big or small. From summer weddings to family barbeques, these elegant wines are ideal to raise a toast to the British summertime.

Chief winemaker, Neil McGuigan said, "Our Black Label range is renowned for its great quality and fantastic value and has always proven hugely popular with UK consumers. The past year has seen a huge increase in the appetite for sparkling wines of all varieties, and we're confident that these Australian bubbles will offer something fresh and new for UK consumers."

The Black Label Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir, Black Label Sparkling Rosé and Black Label Sparkling Shiraz will be available from Sainsbury's from the 27th May, RRP £10
