Exports of Australian wine could reach a record $A1.7bn (US$881m) for 2000/2001, according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The Bureau reported yesterday that Australian wine sales reached A$1.6bn in May 2001, with June's sales figures still to be added to the annual total. Exports were A$200m in advance of figures for the same period last year.
