Following the acquisition of Mumm Champagne earlier this year Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine (UK) Ltd (ADSW) has announced that it is to continue to support international sailing.

Announcing a full season of support in the UK, ADSW business development director Peter Ayling said the highlight will be the brand's high profile support sponsorship of The Skandia Life Cowes Week (4th-11th August).

In addition to Cowes week, ADSW also announced Mumm Champagne's support of an extended domestic sailing programme across the UK as well as the support for the prize-giving at the America's Cup Jubilee event in August and Mumm's podium sponsorship of the revived Cowes Classic Powerboat weekend in September.

Ayling said: "Sponsorship of top class international 'lifestyle' sport is a key part of Mumm Champagne's International marketing strategy and we are delighted to unveil an extended and enhanced season for sailing here in the UK.

"The links between Mumm and sailing extend back to 1977 when Mumm first sponsored the Admiral's Cup. This was followed by the sponsorship of new classes of racing yachts, the Mumm 36 and Mumm 30 that came uniquely successful in grand prix yacht racing worldwide," he added.
