Anheuser-Busch InBev's Canadian unit Labatt Breweries of Canada has purchased Toronto craft brewer Mill Street Brewery.

A spokesperson told just-drinks that the terms and purchase amount of the deal have not been disclosed.

Labatt said today that it would immediately invest CAD10m (US$7.7m) in Mill Street, on a brewhouse and packaging facilities.

Irvine Weitzman, Mill Street's CEO, will continue with the brewery, along with co-founder Steve Abrams and brewmaster Joel Manning. Weitzman said: "With the success of Mill Street has come the challenge of serving a growing demand for our brands.

"Our partnership with Labatt is a natural evolution in our growth."

Mill Street's core brands include Ontario's first organic beer, Mill Street Original Organic Lager, along with 100(th) Meridian, Tankhouse Ale, and Cobblestone Stout.

Last month, the US division of Anheuser-Busch InBev lined up the purchase of California craft brewer Golden Road Brewing.
