A-B InBev said the new beer will be out in next Spring

Anheuser-Busch InBev has confirmed plans to release a new blue agave-infused lager in the US next Spring.

The 6% abv brand, called Oculto, will also be blended with beer aged on Tequila barrel staves, just-drinks understands. The lager will be targeted at 21-27 year-olds and pitched as an alternative to spirits, premium imported beers and craft beer.

"We can confirm that Oculto will make its US debut in Spring 2015," an Anheuser-Busch spokesperson told just-drinks today.

The word Oculto means 'hidden' or 'waiting to be found' in Spanish.

Earlier this week, A-B said it had agreed a deal to acquire Oregon craft brewer 10 Barrel Brewing Co, its third major acquisition in the sub-category.
