Anheuser-Busch InBev has claimed its US safe-ride campaign is now the biggest of its kind by a brewer, after the company expanded the responsible drinking programme.

The 'Give A Damn' campaign will offer more than 150,000 round-trip rides across the US between this week and 31 December, to help consumers get to and from their nights out. The programme was launched earlier this year in partnership with taxi firm Lyft to help combat drink-drinking.

"We are proud to continue our partnership with Lyft to implement evidence-based solutions that can have a real impact on reducing drunk-driving," said Katja Zastrow, VP for CSR at Anheuser-Busch. "Making it home safe at the end of the night starts with getting a ride at the beginning of the night, so we want to encourage people to plan ahead."

AB InBev has launched similar initiatives in other markets. Last year it teamed up with Uber in the UK to offer consumers free taxi rides over the Christmas holiday period.
