Anheuser-Busch has sponsored Daytona since 1979

Anheuser-Busch InBev's US arm has extended its tie-up with Daytona International Speedway.

The "multi-year partnership" renewal continues Anheuser-Busch's official beer sponsorship of the Florida motorsports stadium that hosts the NASCAR Daytona 500 event. A-B has also secured naming rights to four new bars that are part of a US$400m redevelopment of the speedway, scheduled to open in at the start of next year.

A-B has sponsored Daytona since 1979 and is the speedway's longest-serving advertising partner.

Last week, AB InBev received the go-ahead from SABMiller's board for its US$107bn-takeover of the UK-headquartered company. just-drinks confirmed this week that the deal could take as long as 18 months to complete.
