Anheuser-Busch InBev has added 10 Barrel Brewing Co to its craft portfolio

The US unit of Anheuser-Busch InBev has lined up the acquisition of Oregon craft brewer 10 Barrel Brewing Co.

The company, which bought Chicago-based Goose Island in 2011 and New York's Blue Point earlier this year, announced the addition of 10 Barrel earlier today. Financial details behind the transaction were not disclosed.

As well as the craft brewer's production facility in Bend, Oregon, Anheuser-Busch will also take ownership of 10 Barrel's two – soon to be three – on-trade outlets.

"10 Barrel, its brewers, and their high-quality beers are an exciting addition to our high-end portfolio," said Andy Goeler, CEO of Craft at Anheuser-Busch. "The brewery is a major contender in the north-west, an area with a large number of craft breweries. We see tremendous value in the brewery's unique offerings and differentiated style."

The purchase of 10 Barrel, which expects to sell around 40,000 barrels in 2014, will complete by the end of this year.
