Shares in the independent Scotch producer Burn Stewart leapt 25% yesterday on the news it has received a takeover approach. Despite limited information yesterday on the offer, Burn Stewart has now acknowledged that the bid has come from its largest shareholder CL Financial, which owns Angostura bitters.
